THE BEEHIVE JAR – Shaped like a beehive, the Cyprus Fountain is a more refined version of the rustic coil jars found all over the ancient world. They were made by winding long ropes of clay in row upon row, resulting in layers of fine, horizontal ribbing. As water trickles down the fulsome sides of the Cyprus Fountain, it ripples over these many, circling bands to mesmerising effect.
