THE EARTH – Emile Zola’s novel, 'La Terre', follows the fortunes of a French farming family who were every bit as hardy and rustic as their tools. The metal bands of the La Terre Planter harken back to that time when tools and vessels of all sorts were strengthened with rivets and bands. Purely decorative now, the rust-colour metal bands encircling this earthy planter give it a hardy, industrial look which makes it an edgy piece of décor suited to hardy plants and rustic gardens.
