BOLDLY SUBLIME – The traditional pottery of the Philippines is both streamline and solidly practical. Large vessels, such as the Vigan, were originally made from local clay and shaped with paddles. They were used for both food and ceremonial purposes. The Vigan Planter is named after the town of Vigan in Catanduanes province and styled like a large cooking bowl. It has two, great, coiled handles tucked away under its deeply reversed lip where they cling to its sides. This planter could be used as a mini garden bed, or simply stand on its own as a sublime garden feature.
