Sokutai Buddha Head on Titan Stand

THE SNAILS' GIFT – The sublime Sokutai Buddha, with his gentle downward gaze, casts a restful aura over the garden, while at the same time paying homage to its lowly snails. Legend has it that while meditating one day, 108 snails rose to the Buddha’s head to protect it from the heat of the sun. In homage to those devoted snails, the meditating Buddha is often shown with them clustered about his head. This serene effigy of Buddha is mounted on a simple, Titan Stone Pedestal.
