Apollo Bust

MALE PERFECTION – The Apollo Belvedere is one of the greatest of all ancient sculptures, epitomizing the Western ideal of male perfection. In this bust, taken from a full-length statue of Apollo, a light cloak drapes the youth’s shoulders, while his long curls are tied up in a band reserved for gods and rulers. This bust stands high on its own round foot and is usually elevated on a stone pedestal.
