THE PERFECT GODDESS – The Lydia Torso is a faithful copy of the very first known, naked depiction of the goddess Aphrodite. It was made in the 4th century BCE by the Greek sculptor, Praxiteles. Regarded as the embodiment of perfect feminine beauty, all later, classical sculptures of Aphrodite were based on this figure. As refined as it is beautiful, this simple sculpture will transform a garden bower into an Arcadian nook. Included is the textured stone, Titan Pedestal on which the figure is raised.
